FUNCTION In the hierarchy of Perak Royal Constitutional Monarchy, the sequence, His Royal Highness of Sultan Perak follows by the Raja Muda and Raja Di Hilir. Under the hierarchy then follows by the Orang-orang Besar Negeri, which some of them placed as the Orang Besar Jajahan in every district in Perak. The senior member among them is known as Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja.
Before the Parliament system in this country exists, the people will visit Orang-orang Besar Negeri for any complains. Nowadays this role is taken by the member of senate which appointed during national election. However, still, the King and Orang–Orang Besar Negeri play an important role in Malay Traditional Culture and Islamic Religion.
Organisation bodies always request for His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness of Perak in attending opening ceremony which are organised by them. It is the duty of this departmental to assist the organisation bodies in order the ceremony as being well organised. The Royal culture and law remain as it was and still apply in the official ceremony. His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness including his monarch, frequently receive guest. This department (Pejabat DYMM Sultan Negeri Perak) will ensure all this meeting follow the Royal customary law and culture.
To perform such task, this department were given financial support by the State Government based on a budget given by this department. Most of the expenses are for salary of the executive and staff and together with allowance and pension for His Royal Highness and other who have title in the Royal constitution. Other expenses will include such as; managing the Royal Palace in Kuala Kangsar, Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur; maintenance of His Royal Highness official vehicle and other equipment; support expenses at Royal Palace during official ceremony with guest meeting; support travelling expenses of His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness in state and abroad.
